What does step-up / down voltage transformer mean?
Step up/down voltage converters are designed to either step down power from, for example, 220V/240V to 110/120V, or to step up power from 110/120V to 220/40V.
For example you have purchased a device in the UK that you wish to use in the USA you will need a step up converter.
Alternatively if you purchased a device in the USA that you wish to use in the UK you will need a step down converter.
